The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting optometrists with patient care, ensuring a smooth workflow in the clinic, and providing exceptional service to our patients. Duties Prepare patients for examinations by taking medical histories and performing preliminary tests. Assist optometrists during eye examinations, including the use of diagnostic equipment. Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform optical measurements and assist with fitting eyewear. Utilize electronic health record systems such as Epic for documentation and scheduling. Handle medical billing and coding tasks as necessary. Ensure the clinic maintains aseptic techniques and cleanliness standards. Provide patient education regarding eye care and treatment options. Experience Previous experience in an ophthalmology or optometry setting is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and medical coding is essential. Knowledge of optical products and services is advantageous. Experience with electronic health record systems, particularly Epic, is a plus.
