As an Optometric Technician, you'll play an important role in creating a welcoming patient experience while assisting the doctor with diagnostic testing and comprehensive eye examinations. What You'll Do Welcome patients and prepare them for their eye examinations Obtain and document medical and vision histories Perform preliminary diagnostic testing, including visual acuity, auto-refraction, tonometry, retinal imaging, and other testing as needed Assist the doctor during comprehensive eye examinations Explain testing procedures to patients and help them feel comfortable throughout their visit Educate patients on contact lens care and proper handling Train new contact lens wearers on insertion and removal Accurately document patient information in our electronic medical record system Keep examination rooms and equipment clean, organized, and ready for patients Work closely with the doctor and team to maintain an efficient patient flow Provide friendly, professional service that makes every patient feel welcomed and cared for What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is: Friendly, positive, and personable A strong communicator who enjoys working with people Detail-oriented and dependable Comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced healthcare environment Comfortable using computers and learning new technology A team player with a willingness to learn and grow Previous experience in optometry, ophthalmology, or a medical office is a plus — but it is not required. We are willing to train the right person!
