We're looking for a friendly, dependable Optometric Technician / Medical Assistant to join our team in Jamestown. Whether you have experience in optometry, ophthalmology, or medical assisting — or are brand new to the field — we will train the right person who shares our commitment to exceptional patient care. What You'll Do
- Greet and check in patients, assist with registration, and provide outstanding customer service in a medical office setting
- Answer phones promptly and professionally, using active listening and problem-solving skills
- Collect patient demographic, insurance, and payment information; accurately enter data into our electronic health records (EHR) system
- Pre-screen patients and perform diagnostic vision tests before they see the optometrist
- Record medical histories and assist with medical documentation during exams as an ophthalmic scribe
- Train patients on proper contact lens use and care
- Help coordinate scheduling and maintain smooth patient flow in the clinic
- Occasionally travel between our Jamestown and Valley City locations (30 miles) What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management
- Basic math skills and comfort with computers
- Team player with a caring, positive attitude
- Willingness to learn new skills in eye care and patient services
- Preferred but not required: o Experience as an optometric or ophthalmic technician, or in the optical/optometry industry o Experience as a medical assistant or with electronic medical records o 1+ years in a medical or vision care setting Why You'll Love Working Here
Competitive Pay :
$18-$24/hour, based on experienceSchedule:
