Job Description

Techs create and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with their peers, physicians and patients. Willing to train the right candidate. Specific Ophthalmology experience not required. Ophthalmic Technician's Job Description Patient Care and Clinical duties
  • Escort patients to exam rooms
  • Record and verify in the EMR (Electronic Medical Record) patient medical histories and current complaints.
  • Perform diagnostic tests: Conduct auto refractions, visual acuity tests, and perform visual field tests.
  • Administer medications: Give patients topical eye drops as directed.
  • Assist with fittings: Help with contact lens evaluations and fitting, as well as adjusting corrective eyewear. Equipment and Administrative duties
  • Prepare examination rooms, sterilize instruments, and ensure all equipment is functioning correctly.
  • Maintain and update patient records, often using electronic medical records systems.
  • Filing and pulling patient charts
  • Faxing patient records
  • Coordinate and manage patient appointments and follow-up procedures.
  • Monitor and maintain an inventory of ophthalmic supplies. Refractionist Job Description (in addition to the above) Conduct Vision tests using specialized equipment to assess and measure a patient's refractive error Testing includes:
  • Pachymetry
  • OCT
  • Topography
  • OIL Master
  • Reading Glasses
  • Photos These roles This role requires a variety of physical activities to effectively perform essential job functions.
The position involves frequent walking (40%), sitting (30%), and standing (30%)
