FULL TIME OPHTHALMIC TECHNICIAN
position for large multi-office Ophthalmology (Retina) practice. Vitreoretinal Consultants, one of the largest providers of Retina specialty is seeking a Ophthalmic Technician to work in Great Neck, NY office but will require you to travel to Westbury, NY & Rockville Centre. In this patient facing role, you will be an important part of the team whose job is to support and deliver exceptional patient care to our patients. This position requires dedicated individuals who enjoy working with patients and doctors to provide exceptional patient care.

Position Title:
Ophthalmic Technician Full-Time position Monday- Friday will include some Saturdays Flexibility to travel between offices a must!
Job purpose:
Ensuring patient and doctor satisfaction by being a team player, working efficiently and being professional.
Specific duties and responsibilities:
Documenting an accurate chief complaint Checking vision Updating medical history Documenting medications Checking intra-ocular eye pressure Instilling drops Seating patients in exam rooms Prepping patients for injections Consenting patients for treatments/procedures/surgery Confirming patient insurance authorizations for treatments Performing any other clerical and/or technical duties assigned Must learn all aspects of the eye and eye health Being personable and friendly to patients and staff Working as a team player by covering shifts, traveling to other locations or changing assignments Performing OCT photos Stocking supplies Keeping work area clean Skills that apply to this position: Experience in the medical field (Ophthalmic Field experience a plus) An understanding of the basic anatomy of the eye. Capable of screening and running patients thoroughly and in a timely manor Excellent problem-solving skills Kind and friendly personality Strong organizational skills Ability to Multitask in high pace/ high volume environment Capable of taking direction Basic knowledge with computers
