Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Optometric Assistant We are looking for someone enthusiastic and detail-oriented to provide exceptional eyecare to our patients. In this position, you will support optometrists by preparing patients for examinations, operating specialized ophthalmic diagnostic equipment, and ensuring timely provisions of spectacles and contact lens orders. This paid position offers a rewarding opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment, and can lead to further training in optical fitting and sales. Duties Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with the intake process to ensure accurate medical records and smooth appointment flow Obtain vital eye measurements prior to the patient seeing the doctor. Operate ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations to protect patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with clinical confidentiality policies Answer phone calls and schedule appointments appropriately Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR) systems accurately Educate patients on their upcoming procedures or treatments, providing clear instructions and answering questions to enhance their understanding and comfort Requirements On-the-job training will be provided, but experience in healthcare, optometry, or ophthalmology is a plus Excellent communication skills with a friendly, professional demeanor that enhances patient service experience Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while multitasking between clinical duties and administrative responsibilities Bilingual Spanish/English is preferred but not required Join us as an Optometric Assistant to contribute directly to improving patients' visual and ocular health.
