Responsibilities Assist with ophthalmic patient examinations by performing preliminary assessments such as obtaining medical histories, and conducting visual acuity tests. Operate and maintain ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment Assist with various diagnostic procedures to support ophthalmologists in diagnosing eye conditions. Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR) systems accurately, ensuring all patient information is current, complete, and confidential in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Support intake processes by verifying insurance information, updating medical records, and ensuring compliance with clinical confidentiality policies. Provide excellent patient service by addressing questions professionally, maintaining a welcoming environment, and supporting direct patient care activities. Assist with ophthalmic diagnostic imaging procedures such as OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) or visual field testing when needed. Experience Prior experience working in a medical office setting is highly preferred, especially within ophthalmology or optometry practices. Hands-on experience operating ophthalmic diagnostic equipment like tonometers, A-scan biometers, or similar devices is strongly desired. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for managing electronic health records efficiently Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
