THE OPPORTUNITY AT HAND

We re looking for a fully trained Ophthalmic Technician 3 with two years minimum of refracting experience and COT certification, that is passionate and empathetic to join our team as Ophthalmic Techs. Our Techs are responsible for all the pre-exam elements of the patient visit. This includes gathering and documenting patient information and history and conducting routine and ancillary patient testing. You ll play a vital role in the patients experience with OCLI and in helping our Dr s to diagnose and treat eye disorders.

OUR EXPECTATIONS OF YOU

You ll test and record patient's far acuity, near acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception, and color perception You ll apply drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate eyes and collect and process specimens for testing You ll triage emergency cases appropriately into physicians schedule and maintain patient flow You ll prepare patient and procedure room and assist ophthalmologist with procedures as needed You ll perform first level maintenance on ophthalmic equipment and notify the office manager of any equipment malfunctions You will be expected to utilize, as appropriate, infection control techniques and universal precautions, and to maintain confidentiality at all times

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED

You have the ability to work with all specialties and perform all ancillary tasks You have two years minimum of refracting experience Certification as an Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or equivalent You have at least 3 years of experience in an ophthalmic setting You re an excellent communicator

• both verbally and written You re outgoing, you love the idea of interacting with patients everyday You re comfortable providing white glove service and responding quickly to our patients needs You re a dependable problem solver
• you re the one people call to keep cool in stressful situations You have a positive, can-do attitude and work well in collaborative environments You re flexible
• you roll with the punches and easily accept change You re knowledgeable in ocular pharmacology such as anesthetics, steroids, antibiotics, mydriatics and cycloplegics, epinephrine, miotics and non-steroidal anti-inflammatories is a PLUS, but not a requirement While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.

The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
