Job Description

Innovative Vision is seeking an Optometric Technician to join our practice located in Montgomery, OH. At Innovative Vision, we see patients for a range of eyecare needs -- from routine vision screenings and contact lens evaluations to management of cataracts, glaucoma, and more. The optometric technician works closely with our doctors and patients, playing an important role by performing pre- and diagnostic testing, checking visual acuities, charting, and maintaining an optimal clinic flow. We are looking for a skillful Optometric Technician who is detail-oriented, amicable, and enjoys working with patients of all ages.
Optometric Technician Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform pre-testing, check visual acuities, and document history, chief complaints, and medications Use of diagnostic equipment, such as auto-refactor, lensometer, Optos retinal camera, MPOD, non-contact tonometer, visual field analyzer, and OCT Process medication refill requests through both electronic prescribing and fax Assist with doctor correspondence by forwarding exam reports, diabetic letters, and more Submit prior authorizations for medications Maintain clinic efficiency and time management Clean and sanitize equipment and re-stock exam rooms
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent 1+ years of medical office experience Proficiency with computers Excellent organizational and time management skills
Preferred:
Optometric/ophthalmology experience Familiarity with ophthalmic equipment Previous training with EHR (e.g. RevolutionEHR).
