Bloom Family Eye Surgeons through its owned and affiliated practices is a leading provider of comprehensive medical and surgical eye clinic in Dayton, Ohio. As a physician-led and physician-owned practice, we offer complete medical eye examinations by specialists in the field of ophthalmology, including the diagnosis, management and treatment of eye diseases.
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assisting physicians during patient examinations Performing initial patient screenings and diagnostic tests Measuring and recording vision of patients. Administering topical anesthetics or dilating drops Maintaining ophthalmic instruments or equipment, and ensuring their proper sterilization Assisting in simple in-office procedures as directed by the physician Maintaining patient records, including details of procedures, tests, and prescriptions Ordering and stocking supplies in the clinic Assists to instruct patients on proper eye care Helps to set-up equipment for the use of the patients Ensures the organization of the examination room; this includes ensuring that the examination room is clean and safe Assists in the accurate preparation of patients' paperwork Obtains the medical history of patients. May be required to float between our Dayton area practice locations. Other duties as assigned
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma. Minimum of 1 year of experience in Ophthalmology preferred or healthcare related. Proficient in high quality patient care. Knowledge in Electronic Health Record (EHR), specifically NextGen. Experience with IPL therapy and dry eye management strongly preferred. Excellent communication skills and ability to work with a team. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Participates in continued education and skills training. Willingness to learn. Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work a full-time schedule, is an essential function of this position. Occasional operation of a company vehicle may be required. Employees must maintain a valid driver's license and an insurable driving record if assigned driving responsibilities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This role requires a variety of physical activities to successfully perform essential job duties. The position involves frequent walking (up to 75%), as well as regular sitting (up to 50%) and standing (up to 50%). The employee will also need to bend, stoop, and reach regularly (approximately 25-50% of the time). The ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 pounds is required.
