Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the optometric practice. You will assist with various clinical tasks, ensuring that patients receive the highest level of care during their visits. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical assisting and a passion for helping others. Responsibilities Conduct patient intake, including gathering medical history and performing preliminary testing. Testing includes, but is not limited to Visual Fields, OCT, Optos, IOP, Visual Acuities, Autorefraction. Measure and record vital signs. Assist with eye examinations by preparing patients and ensuring all necessary equipment is ready. Utilize EMR systems, including Compulink, to document patient information accurately. Handle medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with optometrists to provide comprehensive care. Skills Strong patient care skills with a focus on empathy and communication. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality. Experience in intake processes and recording vital signs accurately. Medical assistant experience is preferred, along with familiarity with customer service. Background in optometry or medical office experience is advantageous. Proficiency in EMR systems, particularly Compulink, is highly desirable. Experience working with all ages is a plus, enhancing the ability to interact with younger and older patients effectively.
