Job Description

Optometric Technician - Bilingual English/Spanish Job Overview Yealy Eye Care is looking for a dependable, motivated, and patient-focused Bilingual Optometric Technician to join our team. Fluency in both English and Spanish is required. This is a hands-on position where you will work directly with patients and support the doctor throughout the eye examination process. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working with people, communicates well in both English and Spanish, learns quickly, pays attention to detail, and can stay organized in a busy office. Previous experience in an eye-care or medical setting is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person . As an Optometric Technician, you will help prepare patients for their examinations, perform preliminary testing, operate diagnostic equipment, document patient information, and assist the doctor in providing quality patient care. Important - Multi-Location Requirement This position is based at our Downtown Lancaster location , but the technician will be required to work at other Yealy Eye Care locations throughout the Lancaster area as needed . Flexibility to travel between our local offices is required. Responsibilities Welcome and prepare patients for their eye examinations. Obtain and document patient medical and ocular histories. Perform preliminary testing and measurements, including visual acuity, eye pressure, and other testing as needed. Operate and learn to properly use ophthalmic equipment such as the Optomap, OCT, tonometer, visual field, and other diagnostic equipment . Perform pre-testing and gather accurate information for the doctor to review. Assist with patient flow and keep the examination process moving efficiently. Enter and update patient information accurately in our electronic medical record system. Review and verify insurance information when needed. Explain testing and procedures to patients in a clear and friendly manner. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical area. Follow HIPAA and all office policies regarding patient privacy and confidentiality. Communicate effectively with doctors and other members of the office team. Provide professional and compassionate patient care throughout the visit. Assist with other front-desk or office responsibilities when needed. Qualifications Fluent in English and Spanish - required. Previous experience in an optometry, ophthalmology, medical, or healthcare setting is preferred, but not required . Willingness to learn new equipment, procedures, and clinical skills. Comfortable working directly with patients. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and accuracy when entering patient information and performing testing. Dependable, punctual, and willing to be part of a team. Professional and friendly attitude. Ability to follow instructions and work independently once trained. Basic computer skills. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements. Ability and willingness to work at different Yealy Eye Care locations as needed. Pay:
$15.00 - $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
