Job Description

Join our growing eye care team! We are looking for a detailed, friendly, and patient-focused Optometric Technician to provide high-quality care to our patients. Position Overview As an Optometric Technician, you will be the bridge between our patients and the Optometrist. You will welcome patients, conduct preliminary testing, gather essential medical histories, and ensure a smooth, efficient clinic flow. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and a strong work ethic. Prior experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate with a passion for healthcare.
Key Responsibilities Patient Pre-Testing:
Perform preliminary diagnostic testing including auto-refraction, tonometry, visual fields, retinal imaging (OCT/Fundus photography), and lensometry.
Medical History Gathering:
Document accurate patient chief complaints, medical histories, current medications, and insurance details in our Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.
Contact Lens Care:
Train patients on contact lens insertion, removal, and proper hygiene. Manage contact lens inventory and ordering.
Patient Flow:
Maintain an efficient schedule by preparing exam rooms and guiding patients through the examination process seamlessly. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent (required). Previous experience as an Optometric Technician, Ophthalmic Assistant, or Medical Assistant (preferred, but not required). Strong computer literacy and familiarity with EHR systems. Excellent interpersonal communication skills with a compassionate patient-first attitude. Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced clinical setting. Benefits Competitive hourly pay.
