Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician/Assistant to work four weekdays and Saturdays in our practice. In this role, you will support the optometrists in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and math skills, and a passion for helping patients with their eye care needs. Responsibilities Prepare patients for exams by taking medical histories and performing preliminary tests. Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow within the clinic. Provide education to patients regarding optical products. Handle medical and vision billing and insurance claims as needed. Ensure the clinic is clean and organized. Utilize electronic health record systems for documentation. Experience Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting is preferred. Familiarity with optometric practices and optical products is a plus. Understanding of medical and vision billing processes is beneficial. Strong interpersonal skills to provide excellent patient care and communication. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks.
