  • $20 per hourcontractcategorynursing & allied health reference 506745 job details We are seeking a high-energy, reliable, and patient-focused Bilingual Ophthalmic Technician to join our team.
In this role, you will assist our ophthalmologists and optometrists by gathering critical patient health data, running diagnostic tests, scribing, and delivering exceptional care.   • Review patient charts for accuracy and complete detailed ocular and systemic histories
  • Perform standard visual acuity testing, confrontation visual fields, motility assessments, pupil assessments, and IOP measurements (Goldmann applanation / Perkins tonometer)
  • Conduct diagnostic testing ordered by the physician, including OCT, visual fields, A-scan biometry, fundus photography, pachymetry, topography, and dry eye testing
  • Perform manual refractometry (Jackson Cross-Cylinder technique) and manual lensometry
  • Act as a medical scribe in the electronic medical record system (EMR/Nextech) during exams
  • Administer topical or oral ophthalmic medications under physician direction and assist with minor in-office procedures
  • Educate patients on test procedures, post-visit instructions, and proper medication usage
  • Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked exam rooms. Administrative & Team Collaboration
  • Monitor exam room inventory and report supply needs to leadership in a timely manner
  • Participate actively in daily team huddles and staff meetings
  • Complete school/work excuse forms and document patient records accurately
  • Uphold practice protocols, safety standards, HIPAA regulations, and federal/state compliance guidelines
  • Maintain a positive, self-motivated, and professional attitude that supports total team success.
Qualifications & RequirementsLanguage:
MUST be fully bilingual in English and Spanish (Required).
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of experience as an ophthalmic assistant/technician preferred.
Certification:
Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) is a plus, but certification is NOT required.
Software:
Experience with Nextech / ICP strongly preferred.

  • Friday, 7:30 AM
  • 4:30 PM (No nights or weekends)
Hourly Pay:
$18.00
  • $21.
00 / hour (Starting pay based on experience)
