Role:
Optics Unique PLLC is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our growing team in Midland, TX! This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a patient-focused eye care environment where your skills and passion for vision health truly make a difference. Responsibilities:
Perform preliminary patient testing including visual acuity, tonometry, and autorefraction Assist the optometrist during comprehensive eye exams and specialty procedures Collect and document patient medical histories and chief complaints accurately Educate patients on contact lens care, insertion, and removal techniques Manage frame and lens selections, assist with optical dispensing, and take measurements Maintain and calibrate ophthalmic equipment and ensure exam rooms are properly stocked Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and provide exceptional front-to-back office support
Requirements:
Prior experience as an optometric technician, ophthalmic tech, or in a clinical eye care setting preferred Familiarity with ophthalmic diagnostic equipment and testing procedures Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first attitude Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and practice management software a plus COA, COT, or CPOT certification preferred but not required High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in healthcare a plus
