Overview Join our team as an Ophthalmic Technician/Assistant and become a vital part of delivering exceptional eye care! In this important role, you will perform patient examinations, operate specialized diagnostic equipment such as manual refractions, OCT's and topographies, ensuring smooth office workflows. Duties Perform with ophthalmic eye exams, imaging and assisting with in-office procedures Operate ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment such as manual refractions, OCT and topographies Prepare patients for exams by taking comprehensive histories and medications lists ensuring all documentation complies with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies. Support ophthalmologists during procedures . Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR) systems efficiently to document patient history, exam results, and treatment plans accurately. Provide direct patient care through compassionate communication, explaining procedures clearly and addressing patient questions with professionalism. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment while adhering to safety protocols related to medical equipment operation and infection control. Experience Prior experience in a medical office setting or ophthalmology clinic is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy of the eye, and physiology enhances your ability to perform effectively in this role. Familiarity with ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment such as manual refractions, OCT's and topography Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. Experience with EMR/EHR management systems ensures seamless documentation and record keeping. Excellent patient service skills combined with a proactive attitude toward direct patient care are essential for success.
