Under the direction of the Director of the Business Office, support the daily operations of the clinic's surgery counselors. Responsibilities include verifying patient benefits and communicating coverage details, entering insurance information into the system, ensuring accuracy of the surgery schedule, obtaining surgery authorizations and pre determinations, coordinating information with offsite facilities, and collecting payments. We offer state-of-the-art technology with special services ranging from primary eye care to world-class laser surgery. Our physicians were the first to offer LASIK laser vision correction in East Texas and have performed tens of thousands of procedures since its inception. Heaton Eye offers a wide range of premium lenses including Symfony Extended Depth of Focus lenses, PanOptix® lenses, and Vivity® lenses to offer freedom from glasses and contacts after cataract surgery. Our surgeons were the first in East Texas to offer the RxSight Light Adjustable Lens, the only lens implant that allows patients to preview and adjust their vision after cataract surgery. We are the first and only practice in the area offering EVO ICL, another exciting option offering patients freedom from contacts and glasses. Experience:
Minimum of 1 year surgical insurance verification Minimum 1 year retrieving authorizations experience General knowledge of insurance verification

Job Duties Include:
Verify surgical insurance benefits (Professional & Facility) for surgery patients and relay the information to patient before surgery Input insurance information into letter template and mail out to patient. Input insurance information into patient's chart. Assist with day-to day clinic operations relating to insurance verification for, but not limited to: Cataracts, pediatric cases, glaucoma, and YAG surgeries, and oculoplastic Retrieve predeterminations and authorizations for surgery cases Attendance/Punctuality and Reliability Fulfillment of Core Values All other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills:
Must obtain NextGen or other similar medical office software Basic keyboarding Knowledge of practice management software Must be able to type 20 WPM General office equipment Positive attitude Dependable, multi-task oriented Excellent communication skills Organized Excellent phone skills
