Busy optometric practice is seeking a full-time optometric patient care specialist. Schedule will vary between the hours of 7:45 am and 6:00 pm Monday through Friday . Medical office experience is a plus. We will train the right individual. In this vital role, you will assist with patient intake, perform preliminary assessments, and support optometrists and ophthalmologists in providing comprehensive vision and eye health services. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will ensure smooth clinic operations, accurate medical records management, and a welcoming environment for all patients. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with the intake process to gather medical history and current concerns Prepare patients for eye examinations by performing preliminary tests including visual acuity assessments and refraction procedures Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality at all times Assist with optical duties such as lens measurements, frame selection, and fitting to enhance patient satisfaction Support ophthalmology procedures by maintaining aseptic technique during examinations and treatments Manage medical records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Epic or similar platforms, ensuring completeness and confidentiality Perform basic administrative tasks at the front desk including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and handling retail sales of eyewear products Support clinic operations by understanding medical terminology, anatomy related to eye health, and physiology concepts relevant to ophthalmic care Embark on a rewarding career where your skills make a real difference!
