Job Description

Prepares exam rooms with necessary instruments and supplies; ensures cleanliness of room and equipment including dusting and cleaning of the split-lamps. Greets patients and assists them to exam room. Prepares patients for examination and treatment. Takes patient histories and vital signs, measures visual acuity and intraocular pressures, etc. Assists with completion of forms for patients as needed. Provides patient with surgery information, completes surgery paperwork and other tests or treatment as needed. Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization. Reviews doctor's schedules daily. Anticipates needs for each day. Reports inventory of clinical supplies to the technician in charge of ordering supplies and/or Practice Administrator. Assures patient files are maintained correctly; records information in charts appropriately. Screens telephone calls for doctor. Handles messages left at front desk area. Assists receptionist as needed. Conducts/participates in office safety programs and training. Complies with OSHA and other safety standards Performs other selected clinical, administrative or other duties/functions as directed by physician and/or Practice Administrator. Administer topical medications or diagnostic drugs as required by the provider for testing or treatment. Prepare and position patient for diagnostic tests and procedures. Assist the physician with patient education pertaining to the treatment prescribed. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Record patient charges for billing department.

$15.00 - $24.00 per hour
