Job Description
Our optician will play a central role in creating a personal and remarkable experience for our patients. The right candidate will communicate in a clear and friendly manner with customers of all ages, helping them find frames that flatter their faces and lens technologies that suit their lifestyles. We are looking for someone who will be invested in the growth of our practice and excited to find new ways to make our optical more efficient and unique.
Responsibilities include:
Frame and lens selection, fitting, and measurements Utilization of practice management software Management of inventory and relationships with vendors Ensuring the accuracy and quality of each order (manual lensometry required) Dispense spectacles and contact lenses, ensuring proper fit, alignment, and comfort Eyewear adjustments and repairs Maximizing vision plan benefits for both the patient and the practice Contributing to the general tasks and wellbeing of the practice Qualifications Experience in optical retail or clinical settings strongly preferred. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems along with proficiency in POS systems for retail transactions. Ability to perform spectacle lens dispensing, eyewear fittings, frame adjustments, and laboratory procedures efficiently. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly to patients of all ages and backgrounds. Basic math skills for measurements, billing calculations, and inventory management.
