Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Clinical Optician to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities Dispense spectacle lenses and eyewear frames accurately, ensuring proper fit and alignment through precise eyewear fittings and adjustments Assist patients in selecting suitable eyewear based on their prescriptions, lifestyle needs, and personal preferences Conduct comprehensive eye assessments, including vital signs and basic physiology evaluations, to support accurate prescriptions and diagnoses Maintain detailed medical records in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems while adhering to HIPAA privacy standards and clinical confidentiality policies Operate optical laboratory equipment for lens cutting, edging, and mounting, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and adherence to safety protocols such as aseptic techniques Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries, explaining medical terminology clearly, and guiding them through eyewear options Manage retail sales transactions efficiently using POS systems or cash register operations while promoting retail eyewear products and accessories Skills Strong knowledge of ophthalmology principles, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to eye health Experience with optical laboratory procedures including spectacle lens dispensing, frame adjustment, and eyewear fittings Familiarity with health regulation policies such as HIPAA and state healthcare regulations to ensure compliance in all clinical activities Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems like Epic for accurate documentation of medical records and patient histories Ability to perform basic math calculations for retail transactions, prescription adjustments, and inventory management Excellent customer service skills with a focus on clear communication and empathetic patient interactions Retail management experience including sales techniques, retail math, POS systems operation, and inventory control Join us to make a difference in patients' lives by combining your clinical expertise with exceptional service delivery.
