We are hiring for a full-time role combining front desk receptionist and optician/eyewear consultant. Pay begins at $18/hr for candidates without prior experience. Raises come as you grow into the role, and our experienced opticians earn well above the starting rate, with our top earners exceeding $30/hr. Greeting guests Managing schedules Pulling insurance benefits (vision and medical) Communicating with patients via phone, text, fax, email, and occasionally mail Checking patients in and out Reviewing paperwork Ordering contact lenses Entering in new inventory Maintain clean and organized work spaces as well as cleaning the office (a team effort) As an optician/eyewear consultant in training you will work under the direct supervision of our optical manager who will train you to: Help customers choose the best frames and lenses based on their prescription needs, face shape, style, and lifestyle. Take and record measurements, adjust, repair, and fit eyewear, and carry out these tasks with accuracy. (Assisted by the latest technologies, such as Optikam) Verify that finished eyewear meets our standards, as well as customer requests Educate customers on prescription terminology, lens options, our brands, and product offerings. We have many standardized office verbiages that make this clear, consistent, and concise. Place, fill, and dispense orders for glasses and contact lenses, while accurately recording all information into electronic health records software (RevolutionEHR). Problem solve, bounce from one guest to another, and provide consistently excellent customer service to all of our customers/patients. Apply/calculate insurance benefits/discounts Submit insurance claims for all eligible optical orders.
