Job Description

Full time position for well qualified person to sell and dispense eye wear at private optometry office. Previous optical experience preferred but optical training will be provided for applicants entering as an apprentice. Wage depends on level of competence. Individuals with sales or optical sales experience may apply for an apprentice level position. Technical training will be provided for applicants to reach proper skill level and higher wages. Applicants without optical skill must have excellent interpersonal skills, sales ability, and aptitude to learn technical aspects of optical trade. Applicants must be knowledgeable, personable, and detail oriented. Duties will include, but not limited to, fitting eyeglasses, ordering lenses, dispensing glasses and contact lenses, adjusting and repairing frames, managing inventory, assisting front desk as needed, assisting doctor as needed. Must have proficiency with data entry on computers, strong math skills, excellent customer service skills, and persuasive sales techniques. Working knowledge of Officemate software and filing optical insurance claims a plus. Please send resume for consideration.
