Job Description

We are a friendly, patient-focused private optometry office dedicated to providing excellent eye care and outstanding customer service in a welcoming environment. We value professionalism, teamwork, reliability, and creating a positive environment for every patient. We are seeking a dependable, professional and personable Optician / Front Office Coordinator to join our team! This position combines optical dispensing with front desk responsibilities. The ideal candidate is someone who has a positive/proactive attitude, strong communication skills, is detail-oriented, is reliable, is organized and has a willingness to learn and grow with our office. Optical experience is strongly preferred, but we are open to training the right candidate who has excellent customer service skills and a strong work ethic.
Responsibilities:
Greet and assist patients in a warm and professional manner Check patients in and out Answer phone calls, texts, emails and schedule appointments Pretesting patients Verify insurance eligibility and explain benefits Assist patients with frame and lens selection Explain lens options, coatings and insurance benefits Calculate costs per their insurance benefits Review costs with the patient before collecting Billing insurance claims Measure segment height, bifocal height and PD (if needed) Process optical orders for glasses and/or contact lenses Train patients on proper insertion, removal and hygiene care for contact lenses Adjust, fit and dispense eyewear Maintain contact lens inventory Maintain cleanliness and organization of desk space, optical displays and office overall Provide excellent, friendly patient service and communication Qualifications Required Strong customer service and communication skills Professional appearance and attitude Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment Basic computer skills Willingness to learn and work as part of a team Must be able to work on Saturdays Preferred Previous optical or optometry office experience Experience with vision insurance plans Basic computer and EMR/practice management software skills Experience using a manual lensometer Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus If you believe you'd be a great fit with us, please fill out the Google form at the link below and send us your resume!

$21.00 - $28.00 per hour
