This energetic position combines technical expertise with outstanding customer service, ensuring patients receive personalized solutions that enhance their vision and confidence. As an Optician, you will work closely with our optometrists to dispense eyewear, assist with fittings, and uphold the highest standards of clinical confidentiality and health regulation policies. This role will also require someone that is comfortable being in a leadership role and making sure task are completed efficiently. Responsibilities Managing a growing optical and team, to optimize patient flow and keep staff on task. Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear by understanding their needs, preferences, and prescriptions. Dispense spectacle lenses and perform precise eyewear fittings to ensure optimal comfort and vision correction. Adjust and repair eyewear frames accurately, maintaining high standards of optical craftsmanship. Operate POS systems and cash registers efficiently for retail sales transactions. Maintain detailed medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA, clinical confidentiality policies, and state healthcare regulations. Collaborate with laboratory staff to process optical prescriptions, perform laboratory experience tasks, and ensure timely delivery of eyewear products. Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions about optical products Qualifications Proven experience in optical retail or retail optometry environments with knowledge of optics, spectacle lens dispensing, and eyewear fittings. Standard understanding of medical terminology, EMR/EHR systems, and medical records management. Experience operating POS systems, cash registers, and retail math calculations for sales transactions. Laboratory experience in optical labs or eyewear manufacturing is highly desirable. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively about medical information clearly and professionally. Ability to perform basic math accurately for retail transactions and measurements during fittings or adjustments. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail in all tasks.
