We operate differently - by connecting with our patient personally and understanding their life, we provide uniquely tailored visual solutions. We are currently seeking a new optician to join our team! As an Optician, you will work directly with patients to fit them with visually corrective devices (spectacles and contact lenses) that fit their lifestyle and visual demands. You will also help them learn about new eyewear products and explain pricing and insurance coverage (primarily VSP, Eyemed and some Medicaid plans). The ideal candidate has exceptional customer service skills and communication skills, as well as an in-depth knowledge of the different types of ophthalmic devices (i.e. bifocals, progressives, contact lenses, anti-glare coatings, etc) to provide our patients with the sharpest look and vision. Standard work hours are as follows (excepting major holidays) Tuesday-Thursday 9AM-6PM Friday 9AM-6PM Saturday 8:00AM-1:00PM Responsibilities Learn about patients' occupational and avocational visual demands Assist with spectacle frame and lens selection Ordering and processing contact lens orders Explain pricing, insurance, and payment options to patients Making frame/nosepad adjustments Take facial spectacle measurements to ensure a perfect fit Prepare specific orders for the ophthalmic lab Billing / processing spectacle and contact lens orders and exams Operate under all HIPPA and confidentiality regulations Benefits/Perks Competitive Compensation with opportunity for commissions on optical sales Great Work Environment Qualifications Strong customer service skills Bilingual in Spanish (required) Previous optical experience desired but not required Strong communication and interpersonal skills
