In this energetic position, you will combine your expertise in optics and customer service to assist patients in selecting the perfect eyewear, dispense spectacles, and ensure a seamless experience from consultation to fitting. Your knowledge of medical terminology, health regulation policies, and laboratory procedures will contribute to providing top-tier eye care while maintaining strict adherence to clinical confidentiality and HIPAA standards. Duties Assist patients in selecting eyewear that suits their prescription needs, lifestyle, and personal style preferences Dispense spectacles accurately by measuring pupillary distance, adjusting frames, and fitting lenses with precision Conduct eyewear fittings and frame adjustments to ensure comfort and optimal vision correction Operate POS systems and cash registers efficiently for retail sales transactions Maintain detailed medical records and update electronic health records (EHR/EMR) with patient information while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies With knowledge of vision care plans, order contact lenses and spectacles accurately through various portals. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, explaining product features, and guiding patients through their eyewear choices while adhering to health regulation policies Support the optical team with inventory management, including stocking frames, lenses, and supplies Requirements Proven experience in retail optometry or optical laboratory work with knowledge of optics and eyewear fitting techniques Familiarity with optometric terminology and skills necessary to evaluate and confirm prescriptions. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, medical records management, and clinical confidentiality policies Ability to operate optical equipment such as spectacle lens dispensers, frame adjusters, and lab tools with precision Experience working with EMR/EHR systems and POS/retail sales software for efficient record keeping and transactions Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor and active listening abilities Basic math skills for measurements, prescriptions calculations, and retail transactions Best candidate will possess good communication skills and be well organized.
