The ideal candidate will possess strong optical knowledge, laboratory skills, and familiarity with OfficeMate. This role involves assisting staff interaction with patients for eyewear selection, performing fittings, managing optical laboratory orders, and ensuring excellent patient service in a private practice clinical environment. This is a temporary position as a training consultant. Responsibilities Assist staff with patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on prescriptions, lifestyle needs, and personal preferences. Operate OfficeMate software for patient record management, billing, and inventory control efficiently. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries regarding eyewear options, insurance coverage, and health regulations. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations, medical confidentiality policies, and state healthcare guidelines to protect patient information. Experience Proven experience as an Optician with proficiency in OfficeMate or similar optical management software. Knowledge of ophthalmology terminology, optics principles, and anatomy related to the eye. Laboratory experience in spectacle lens fabrication, eyewear frame adjustment, and aseptic techniques preferred. Background in retail sales within an optical or healthcare setting, demonstrating strong customer service skills. Understanding of health regulation policies including HIPAA compliance and medical billing procedures. Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics and senior care is advantageous.
