Job Description

We are an established ophthalmology practice opening a brand-new optical dispensary and are seeking a Certified Optician with a minimum of 5 years of experience to manage and operate our start-up optical. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced, self-driven optician to build and lead a one-person optical within a respected medical practice. The ideal candidate is confident working independently, highly organized, and excels at multitasking while delivering exceptional patient care. You will be responsible for selling eyewear procucts and handling operational duties to a loyal customer base where patient care always comes first.
Responsibilities will include:
Manage day-to-day operations of a start-up optical dispensary Assist patients with frame and lens selection Perform frame adjustments and minor repairs Operate a lensometer proficiently Read and verify prism Mark up progressive lenses accurately Order lenses and frames Process and manage insurance claims Maintain knowledge of lens materials and frame lines Oversee frame inventory and ordering Provide excellent patient communication and customer service Work independently while supporting the clinical team Qualifications Certified Optician (required) Minimum 5 years of optical dispensing experience Strong knowledge of lens materials and progressive lenses Experience using a lensometer and reading prism Experience with insurance processing Inventory management Start-up optical experience highly preferred Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Self-motivated and dependable

$26.00 - $30.00 per hour
