Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Licensed Optician, where your expertise in optics and patient care will shine! In this vital role, you will assist patients in selecting the perfect eyewear, dispense spectacles with precision, and ensure compliance with health regulation policies. Your knowledge of optometry and ophthalmology, medical terminology, and clinical confidentiality will contribute to delivering exceptional eye care services. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine technical skills with outstanding customer service in a fast-paced, rewarding environment. Duties Provide expert eyewear fittings, adjusting frames for optimal comfort and style while ensuring proper spectacle lens alignment. Dispense prescription glasses and contact lenses accurately based on optometry assessments and medical records. Assist patients in selecting suitable eyewear by explaining lens options, frame styles, and features aligned with their needs. Operate optical laboratory equipment and perform laboratory tasks such as lens cutting, edging, and mounting to produce high-quality spectacles(preferred). Manage patient records securely using EMR/EHR systems while adhering to HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies. Handle retail sales transactions efficiently using POS systems and cash register operations, providing excellent customer service throughout the process. Skills Strong knowledge of optometry and ophthalmology, optics, anatomy, and physiology related to eye health. Familiarity with health regulation policies including HIPAA, state healthcare regulations, and medical coding standards. Experience with optical laboratory procedures such as spectacle lens dispensing and eyewear frame adjustments. Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems like EyeFinity for managing medical records accurately. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex medical terminology clearly to patients. Retail sales experience combined with retail math skills for handling transactions confidently. Ability to operate POS systems efficiently while maintaining a friendly demeanor.
