In this role, you will be responsible for assisting patients with their eyewear needs, including the fitting and dispensing of glasses and contact lenses. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that patients receive the highest level of care and service while promoting eye health and wellness. Responsibilities Greet patients and assess their eyewear needs through consultations. Assist in selecting appropriate frames and lenses based on patient preferences and prescriptions. Perform fittings for glasses and contact lenses, ensuring proper alignment and comfort. Educate patients on proper eyewear care and maintenance. Process orders for eyewear, including managing inventory and coordinating with laboratories. Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and billing information. Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care. Stay updated on the latest trends in optical technology and eyewear fashion. Requirements Previous experience as an Optician or in a related field is preferred. Knowledge of optical systems, laboratory procedures, and ophthalmology practices is a plus. Familiarity with medical billing, coding, and electronic health record systems such as Epic is advantageous. Strong sales skills to effectively promote products to patients. Excellent communication skills to interact with patients of all ages, including seniors. Ability to assess vital signs when necessary as part of comprehensive patient care. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential for maintaining accurate records.
