Job Description

Senior Optician/Optical Sales Specialist Maxivision Eye Care Naperville, IL Job Details Part-time | Full-time | Contract $23 - $27 an hour 2 hours ago Benefits Paid time off Vision insurance Qualifications Bilingual Optical experience Prescription-based eyewear frame selection HIPAA Experience working with children Records management Full Job Description Job Summary Maxivision Eye Care is an independent, doctor-owned optometry practice in Naperville led by Dr. Maria Anum. We're known as the area's experts in myopia control and run a curated optical featuring Ray-Bans, Maui Jim, Michael Kors, Tory Burch, Emporio Armani, and more. We're a growing practice with a loyal patient base, and we're looking for an optician who loves the retail side of eye care as much as the clinical side. The Role This is first and foremost a sales role. Every patient who finishes an exam walks past our frame boards, and your job is to turn that moment into a great pair of glasses they love. You'll style patients, build trust fast, explain lens options in plain language, and close the sale. Responsibilities Own the optical sales floor: greet every patient after their exam, style them in frames that fit their face, prescription, and budget, and guide them confidently to a purchase. Present premium lens options (anti-reflective, photochromic, progressives, sports and sun) and recommend second pairs where they genuinely make sense. Help parents of our many pediatric and myopia-management patients choose durable, well-fitting kids' eyewear. Take accurate measurements (PD, seg heights, vertex distance) and make sure every pair is dispensed, adjusted, and fitting perfectly. Maximize patients' vision insurance benefits (Eyemed, VSP, Spectera) and clearly explain out-of-pocket costs. Maintain accurate records in our EHR (Revolution) and handle patient information in line with HIPAA. Experience Proven experience selling eyewear (retail optical or private practice). You should be comfortable being measured on capture rate and per-patient sales.
A natural stylist and closer:
warm, consultative, and persuasive without being pushy. Working knowledge of ophthalmic lenses, frames, and fitting/adjustment tools. Comfort explaining prescriptions, lens options, and insurance benefits in everyday language. Experience with Revolution
EHR. ABO
certification a plus, not required. Bilingual a plus, as we serve a diverse community. Great with kids and parents. A big part of our practice is pediatric. Why Maxivision You get paid for what you sell. On top of your base pay, you earn commission on eyewear sales with no cap. Strong sellers here take home meaningfully more than a flat hourly wage. Performance bonuses. Hit capture rate and sales goals and you are rewarded for it. When the optical wins, you win. Growing independent practice where there is room to grow with us.
Pay:
