Full Job Description Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Optician to join our team. As an Optician, you will play a crucial role in assisting customers with their eyewear needs and ensuring their satisfaction. This position requires a strong knowledge of optical products, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist customers in selecting and fitting eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other optical products
  • Take accurate measurements of customers' eyes and facial features to ensure proper fit and comfort
  • Educate customers on lens options, frames, and lens treatments
  • Adjust and repair eyewear as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of customer prescriptions, orders, and payments
  • Collaborate with the optometrist to ensure accurate prescription fulfillment
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving any issues or concerns
Experience:
  • Previous experience as an Optician or in a similar role is preferred
  • Knowledge of laboratory procedures for lens fabrication and repair
  • Familiarity with medical records, medical billing, and insurance claims related to optical services
  • Strong sales skills with the ability to recommend appropriate eyewear based on customer needs
  • Proficiency in using computer systems for inventory management and sales transactions
  • Understanding of ophthalmology terminology and procedures is a plus
  • Knowledge of medical coding for insurance billing purposes is beneficial
