We need an experienced optician for evenings and weekends. This is a part-time role meant as a strong second job or as someone's ideal part-time schedule. Experience is required. In-office lab experience is preferred but not required. out-of-pocket expenses. Position summary You are the face of the optical after hours and on weekends. You help with frame selection, measurements, lens recommendations, adjustments, repairs, and dispense. You support the doctors' prescriptions, complete paperwork and computer entries, coordinate with the lab, and keep the dispensary organized and presentable. This is not training from scratch. After a short orientation to our systems, vendors, and doctors' preferences, you should be able to work the floor with limited supervision. Schedule Part-time evenings and weekends Weekday evenings after regular hours and weekend shifts Hours may shift a little with volume, doctor schedules, and season Good for someone who already works days and wants extra income, or an optician who wants part-time Essential duties Greet patients and handle new glasses, remakes, repairs, and adjustments Read prescriptions and recommend lens types, materials, coatings, and designs Help with frame selection: fit, comfort, durability, and style Take accurate measurements and complete order tickets correctly Place, track, and follow up on lab orders; inspect finished eyewear before dispense Dispense glasses, review wear and care, and adjust on the spot Do frame adjustments, pad and temple work, and basic repairs Troubleshoot fit issues, non-adapts, and remakes Keep boards, displays, and the dispensary clean and shoppable Enter patient information, orders, and notes in the practice system Communicate with doctors, front desk, and the lab on problem jobs Review basic vision-plan benefits when needed and explain out-of-pocket options Help with inventory, incoming stock, and transfers as directed Follow HIPAA and office privacy rules Close or help close the optical on evening and weekend shifts Lab (preferred) Lab experience is preferred, not required. If you have finishing-lab or in-office lab time, you will move faster on edge, mount, tint, and repair questions. Without lab experience, you still need to read a job ticket, inspect finished work, and talk to an outside lab.

Standing for long stretches, handling small tools, lifting frame trays or boxes, working at a computer and fitting table. Evening and weekend shifts can be busy; you may have more than one patient going at once.
