Full‑Time We are seeking a friendly, detail‑oriented Optical Assistant to join our ophthalmology/optometry team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with patients, supporting clinical staff, and helping maintain an organized, efficient optical department. This is not a management position; the Optical Assistant will report directly to the Optical Director and Administration. Key Responsibilities
- Patient & Customer Support
- Greet patients and assist with optical needs
- Answer incoming phone calls and provide accurate, courteous information
- Schedule appointments or direct calls to the appropriate staff member Optical Operations
- Check in incoming glasses and contact lens orders
- Notify patients when their eyewear is ready for pickup
- Assist patients with frame selection, adjustments, and minor repairs Inventory, Board Management & Ordering
- Maintain frame inventory, including receiving, tagging, and organizing new stock
- Keep the frame boards neat, clean, and well‑presented
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs
- Assist with vendor coordination, product returns, and order tracking
- Responsible for inventory count in all locations Invoice Management
- Process optical invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Verify pricing, quantities, and vendor details before submission
- Track outstanding invoices and communicate discrepancies or delays
- Maintain organized records for all optical billing and purchasing activity Administrative Support
- Document patient interactions and eyewear orders accurately
- Ensure all optical records are complete and up‑to‑date
- Support the optical team with daily tasks to maintain smooth clinic flow Qualifications
- Strong communication and customer‑service skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment
- Comfortable learning optical terminology and product details
- Prior optical or medical office experience is a plus, but not required
