Bay Eye Center is a growing, patient-focused eye care practice committed to providing exceptional vision care, premium optical products, and an outstanding patient experience. We are seeking an experienced Licensed Optician to join our team at our new Barnstable location. The Optician is an integral member of the patient care team and is responsible for providing comprehensive optical services, including patient consultation, frame and lens selection, measurements, eyewear fitting and adjustments, contact lens support, optical ordering, and inventory management. This position works closely with the Optometrist and Office Manager to ensure patients receive personalized, high-quality care while supporting the overall success of the optical department. Key Responsibilities Consult with patients to understand their lifestyle, vocational, recreational, vision, and fashion needs. Educate patients on lens materials, coatings, tints, premium lens technologies, and other optical products. Recommend and assist patients with frame selections based on prescription, facial features, lifestyle, and personal preferences. Accurately interpret prescriptions and perform facial and optical measurements to ensure proper lens placement and fit. Dispense, fit, adjust, and troubleshoot eyewear to ensure optimal comfort, vision, and alignment. Perform frame adjustments and minor eyewear repairs. Create accurate optical work orders and coordinate with optical laboratories to ensure lenses are manufactured according to prescription and patient specifications. Provide patients with clear instructions regarding eyewear use, care, and maintenance. Educate patients on contact lens care and hygiene and assist the Optometrist with contact lens fittings when appropriate. Address post-dispensing concerns and ensure a high level of patient satisfaction. Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation within the practice management and EMR systems. Maintain appropriate inventory levels of frames, lenses, contact lens products, and optical supplies. Assist with inventory control and supply chain management while supporting practice cost-of-goods goals. Stay current with optical products, premium lens technologies, industry trends, and best practices. Collaborate closely with Optometrists, Office Managers, and other team members to provide seamless patient care. Support a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment. Qualifications Massachusetts Licensed Optician Candidates with extensive optical experience and training who are not currently licensed may be considered, with compensation adjusted based on experience. Several years of hands-on optical experience preferred; mentoring or leadership experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of optics, lens materials, frame construction, and optical products. Strong technical skills in measurements, fittings, adjustments, and eyewear dispensing. Excellent communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills. Strong consultative sales skills with the ability to educate patients and recommend products based on their individual needs. High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to learn and effectively utilize practice management and EMR systems. Employees must become proficient with Revolution PMS/EMR within four weeks of hire. Ability to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment. The position also requires sufficient visual acuity for inspection, clerical, optical, and administrative tasks.

Pay:
