Job Summary Our privately-owned Optometric and optical store is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Optician to join our team. As an Optician, you will be responsible for assisting patients in selecting eyewear, fitting lenses, and ensuring optimal vision care. Your expertise will contribute to providing exceptional service and enhancing the overall patient experience. Responsibilities Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their needs and preferences. Conduct fittings for glasses and contact lenses, ensuring proper alignment and comfort. Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Utilize EMR systems to document patient interactions and updates. Perform basic laboratory tasks related to lens fabrication and adjustments. Provide education on proper eyewear care and usage. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. Manage retail sales transactions, including processing payments and handling inventory. Stay updated on optical products, trends, and technologies to provide informed recommendations. Requirements Prefer experience as an Optician or in a similar role within an optical or healthcare setting. Familiarity with EMR systems. Experience with laboratory procedures related to eyewear fabrication is a plus. Knowledge of retail management practices, including retail math and sales strategies is a plus. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for managing medical records accurately.
