Job Description
POSITION DESCRIPTION
- Need a bilingual individual able to interpret and directly communicate with patients and staff (Spanish & English)
- The Optician assists and educates patients with their selection of eyewear frames, lenses and lens enhancements.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Assist the Doctor of Optometry, ensuring that the patient is well educated on their lens, frame and contact lens options as well as their insurance details and aid in the selection of appropriate materials.
- Assure the primary optical needs of the patient are met.
- Build relationships with patients and walk-in clientele thereby creating a feeling of trust in the Doctors of Optometry's skills and the practice as a whole.
- Honor the culture of being a team player among all locations, and be willing to assist in various capacities to provide exceptional care.
- Represent the practice to both patients, walk in traffic and the community in a professional, ethical, and caring manner.
- Participate in ongoing professional development by maintaining appropriate certification and a relentless attitude toward continual growth and career betterment.
HOW YOU WILL DO IT
- Strong Computer skills with the ability to learn specialized software.
- Ability to connect with patients/clientele to foster a relationship of trust and correctly advise them on their Rx options.
- Strong communication skills: interpersonal, listening, and writing.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment; courteous and friendly demeanor.
- Ability to work effectively with various staff and diverse populations.
- Good organizational and time management skills to effectively juggle multiple priorities and time constraints.
- Ability to handle patients and practice information in a confidential manner.
