In this vital role, you will combine your passion for optics and patient care with your sales skills to provide personalized eyewear solutions. You will work closely with ophthalmologists, optometrists, and patients to ensure the highest standards of service, compliance with health regulation policies, and clinical confidentiality. This position offers an exciting opportunity to grow within a collaborative environment dedicated to improving vision health and patient satisfaction. Responsibilities Assist patients in selecting eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other optical products by understanding their needs and preferences Conduct comprehensive eye assessments including vital signs, basic physiology evaluations, and determining appropriate lens prescriptions Use Optical Experience and Laboratory Experience to help fit frames accurately and ensure proper lens alignment Maintain detailed medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic or similar platforms, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies Educate patients on optical products, lens options, and proper eye care practices while promoting retail sales of eyewear and accessories Manage POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently for transactions, inventory tracking, and billing processes including Medical Billing and Medical Coding when applicable Stay informed about current health regulation policies, state healthcare regulations, and clinic experience standards to uphold safety and quality assurance in all procedures Support senior care patients by providing tailored optical solutions that meet their specific needs while adhering to aseptic techniques during fittings or adjustments Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure all optical services align with ophthalmology standards and medical terminology requirements Experience Proven retail sales experience within optical or optometry environments, demonstrating strong customer service skills Familiarity with ophthalmology practices, anatomy knowledge related to the eye, and physiology concepts relevant to vision correction Hands-on laboratory experience with lenses, frame fitting, or optical equipment preferred Knowledge of medical terminology related to eye health, vital signs measurement, and clinical confidentiality policies Experience working with EMR systems such as Epic or other electronic health record platforms is highly desirable Understanding of health regulation policies including HIPAA compliance and state healthcare regulations governing optometry clinics Background in retail management or retail math to effectively handle sales transactions and inventory management Join us in delivering exceptional optical care that transforms lives through clear vision!
