About Us:

GTOC is a multi-specialty ophthalmology clinic serving the Traverse City and Petoskey areas. We combine clinical eye care with a curated selection of eyewear, and we're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with people and wants to grow into a career in optical care.

What You'll Do:

As an Optical Sales Associate/Optician, you'll work directly with patients to help them select eyewear that fits their needs, vision prescription, and personal style. We'll train you on-site to become a certified optician, covering both the technical and patient-facing sides of the role.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses based on their prescription, lifestyle, and preferences. Learn to use optical equipment for measurements, fittings, and adjustments. Explain lens options, coatings, and care instructions clearly to patients. Coordinate with our doctors and clinic team to ensure a smooth patient experience. Maintain accurate records and assist with insurance and billing questions as needed.

What We're Looking For:

Someone with strong customer service instincts and genuine patience working with the public. Comfort with detail-oriented, hands-on tasks. Ability to work well as part of a small team in a clinical setting. Interest in healthcare, eyewear, or a long-term career path in optical services. No prior optical experience required — we provide full training.
