Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Optician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in ophthalmology and optical experience, with a commitment to providing exceptional patient care. As an Optician, you will be responsible for fitting and dispensing eyewear, ensuring that patients receive the highest quality service tailored to their individual needs. You will work closely with both patients and healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive eye care solutions. Duties Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their prescriptions and lifestyle needs. Perform fittings and adjustments of eyeglasses and contact lenses. Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and prescription details. Utilize EMR systems for documentation and patient management. Educate patients on proper eyewear care, usage, and maintenance. Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. Handle retail sales transactions efficiently while providing excellent customer service. Stay updated on the latest optical technologies and trends to better serve patients. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality. Experience Candidates should have a background that includes: Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and vital signs. Experience in retail sales, including retail management and retail math skills. Familiarity with medical billing, coding, and records management. Previous experience in clinic settings or senior care environments is preferred. Laboratory experience is a plus, particularly in relation to optical equipment. Understanding of pediatric eye care is beneficial but not mandatory. Proficiency in using Epic or similar EMR systems is advantageous.
