El Car Wash is hiring Key Holders for several Metro Detroit locations: 29511 Mound Rd, Warren 1275 W 14 Mile Rd, Madison Heights 18155 Mack Ave, Detroit 48648 Grand River Ave, Novi, MI 48374 The role As a Key Holder, you're a trusted leader on the ground. You open or close the site, you set the tone for the shift, and when management isn't on-site, the team looks to you. It's a working lead role, so you're on the floor alongside everyone else, leading by example and keeping the day moving. No direct reports and no write-ups. Your influence comes from presence, coaching in the moment, and doing the job well enough that people follow. You partner with your Assistant Site Manager and Site Manager on anything that needs to go up the chain. You're never handling the big stuff alone. What you'll own Open and close with precision. Secure, prepped, and ready to deliver a strong shift. Set the standard for cleanliness, safety, and performance. Hold the site independently when management isn't present. Solve the problem, make the call, keep it running. Coach and guide in real time. Redirect, encourage, and reinforce the standard without creating conflict. Handle customer questions and concerns quickly and with genuine care. Keep customers and teammates informed, especially during downtime or a service interruption. Grow. This role is a stepping stone, not a ceiling. What you bring Dependability. Your attendance is what makes this role work. Comfort running the site independently in all conditions, including weekends. The ability to hold a standard with a peer and stay on good terms after. A customer-first mindset, even on a short-staffed Saturday. Basic mechanical comfort. You're willing to troubleshoot and escalate appropriately. Ambition. You want to lead more, not just hold the keys. Prior shift lead, key holder, or informal supervisory experience is a plus.
