Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Optician, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional eye care services and eyewear solutions. This energetic position offers the opportunity to combine technical expertise with outstanding customer service, ensuring patients receive personalized care and high-quality optical products. As an integral part of our clinic, you will assist with eyewear fittings, lens dispensing, and maintaining clinical confidentiality while adhering to health regulation policies. This paid position is perfect for individuals passionate about optics, medical terminology, and providing compassionate patient support. Pay also includes up to 3 % commission Responsibilities Assist patients in selecting and fitting eyewear, ensuring proper frame adjustment and comfort Dispense spectacle lenses accurately based on prescriptions, utilizing optical laboratory experience and knowledge of optics Conduct basic eye assessments such as vital signs and physiology measurements in accordance with clinical protocols Operate POS systems and cash registers efficiently during retail sales transactions Maintain precise medical records using EMR/EHR systems while respecting HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies Support laboratory procedures including spectacle lens cutting, edging, and quality checks Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries, explaining eyewear options, and ensuring a positive experience Follow health regulation policies and clinic experience standards to uphold safety and hygiene practices Qualifications 3 years of optical experience. Knowledge of ophthalmology, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical coding standards Experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or similar platforms is highly desirable Strong understanding of state healthcare regulations, HIPAA compliance, and clinical confidentiality policies Ability to perform eyewear fittings, spectacle lens dispensing, and frame adjustments with precision Basic math skills for measurements, billing calculations, and inventory management Excellent customer service skills with a proactive attitude towards patient care Experience in retail sales, POS systems operation, Acuity, TAB, MNITS, Availity, and retail management is advantageous.
