Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Temporary Optician / Optical Salesperson to join our team on a coverage basis. In this role, you will provide exceptional customer service while assisting with eyewear sales, fittings, optical dispensing and contact lenses ordering. You will support the optical department by ensuring accurate lens and frame selections, performing eyewear adjustments, and maintaining compliance with health regulation policies. Duties Assist customers in selecting appropriate eyewear based on prescriptions, face shape, and personal preferences Dispense spectacle lenses accurately, including measurements for proper fitting and alignment Perform eyewear fittings and adjustments to ensure comfort and optimal vision correction Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently for transactions Maintain detailed medical records and update electronic health records (EHR/EMR) systems following HIPAA guidelines Support laboratory quality control of optical products Educate patients on proper eyewear care while adhering to clinical confidentiality policies Ensure compliance with state healthcare regulations and medical billing procedures Manage inventory of frames, lenses Skills Experience with laboratory work related to spectacle lens fabrication and eyewear adjustments Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and professionally Retail sales experience combined with proficiency in retail math and POS system operations Understanding of health regulation policies including HIPAA Ability to perform detailed eyewear fittings, frame adjustments, and spectacle lens dispensing accurately Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to prescriptions, and financial transactions Aseptic techniques for maintaining a clean environment during optical procedures or laboratory work We are looking for temporary coverage starting August 11 through September 5.

Pay:

$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
