Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Optician/Frame Stylist to join our vibrant optical team. In this role, you will combine your passion for eyewear fashion with your technical expertise to deliver exceptional customer service and assist clients in selecting the perfect frames and lenses. Your energetic approach will help create a welcoming environment where customers feel valued and confident in their eyewear choices. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in optical retail, medical terminology, and patient care while working within a fast-paced, innovative setting. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and assess their eyewear needs with enthusiasm and professionalism Assist clients in selecting frames that complement their style, face shape, and prescription requirements Take precise measurements for lens fitting, including pupillary distance and frame adjustments Provide guidance on lens options, coatings, and accessories to enhance vision and comfort Maintain accurate medical records, including vital signs and medical history, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Support laboratory processes such as lens edging and mounting, utilizing laboratory experience when necessary Educate customers on proper frame care, maintenance, and the importance of regular eye exams Collaborate with the healthcare team to understand ophthalmology referrals or special patient needs Manage retail sales transactions efficiently using retail math skills while promoting store promotions and products Requirements Prior optical experience required; strong interest in eyewear fashion a plus Knowledge of ophthalmology principles, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as NexTech or similar platforms Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times Experience with laboratory procedures related to lenses and frames is advantageous Ability to communicate effectively about medical records, vital signs, medical billing, and coding processes Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate measurements and record keeping Ability to work collaboratively within a clinic or retail environment serving diverse patient populations including pediatrics and senior care Join us in delivering outstanding optical care while advancing your career in a lively, supportive atmosphere. Pay:
$18.00 - $30.30 per hour
