Join Our Team as an Optician at Bayside Eyecare! Position Summary Bayside Eyecare is seeking a knowledgeable, customer-focused Licensed Optician to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping patients achieve optimal vision through personalized eyewear solutions while delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves assisting patients with frame and lens selection, performing accurate measurements, fitting and adjusting eyewear, and ensuring compliance with all state licensing requirements. Key Responsibilities Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and lens enhancements based on prescription requirements, lifestyle needs, and personal preferences. Interpret and accurately fill eyeglass prescriptions from optometrists and ophthalmologists. Take precise optical measurements, including pupillary distance (PD), segment height, and fitting measurements. Fit, adjust, repair, and dispense eyeglasses to ensure patient comfort and satisfaction. Educate patients on lens options, coatings, warranties, and proper eyewear care. Verify lens accuracy and quality before dispensing. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation. Process eyewear orders and coordinate with optical laboratories. Manage inventory of frames, lenses, and optical supplies. Assist with insurance verification and explain vision benefit coverage to patients. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional optical dispensary. Collaborate with doctors and staff to provide a seamless patient experience. Qualifications Current State Optician License in good standing. High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous optical experience preferred. Strong knowledge of ophthalmic lenses, frame styling, lens technologies, and optical measurements. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and optical management software is a plus.
