Responsibilities Assist patients in selecting and fitting eyewear, including spectacle lenses and frames, ensuring optimal comfort and style Dispense eyewear accurately by interpreting prescriptions, performing lens measurements, and conducting eyewear fittings Conduct laboratory tasks such as frame adjustments, frame repairs and quality checks to ensure precision and durability Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems and cash registers efficiently for retail transactions while maintaining accurate records Work directly with our doctors to discuss the best lens design options for the patient's needs Educate patients on eye health, optical products, and proper eyewear maintenance, adhering to medical terminology and physiology knowledge Follow HIPAA guidelines and clinical confidentiality policies to protect patient information at all times Collaborate with optometrists and other healthcare professionals to support comprehensive patient care in compliance with state healthcare regulations and medical billing standards Experience Valid licensure as an Optician with comprehensive knowledge of ophthalmology practices and health regulation policies Proven experience in optical retail sales, eyewear fittings, spectacle lens dispensing, and laboratory procedures Familiarity with EMR/EHR (Electronic Medical Records/Electronic Health Records) Experience working within clinical settings involving pediatrics or senior care populations is preferred Strong understanding of medical terminology related to eye anatomy, physiology, vital signs, and medical coding processes Hands-on experience with optical laboratory equipment, eyewear frame adjustments, and aseptic techniques in clinical environments Ability to perform basic math calculations for retail transactions, lens prescriptions, and medical billing procedures Embark on a rewarding career where your expertise makes a tangible difference in people's lives.
