As an Optician, you'll work directly with patients to help them select eyewear that fits their vision needs, lifestyle, and personal style. This is a highly patient-focused role, so we're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with people, building relationships, and creating a great experience for every patient. You'll also be cross-trained as a Check-Out Coordinator , assisting doctors with post-exam care, helping patients understand their insurance benefits, and collecting payment for services. No optical experience? No problem! We're happy to train the right person who is personable, eager to learn, interested in optics, and excited about working closely with patients. Already an experienced or licensed Optician? We'd love to hear from you too! We're willing to offer a higher, competitive market wage for someone bringing strong optical experience and skills to the team.
WHAT WE OFFER
$21.00-$23.00 per hour for candidates we will train, based on experience and qualifications, with commission and bonus opportunities available . WHAT YOU'LL DO
Help patients select eyeglass frames and lenses based on their prescription, comfort, lifestyle, and personal preferences Learn to accurately measure and fit eyewear using optical tools and equipment Educate patients on lens options, treatments, and proper eyewear care Place, verify, and receive eyewear orders and help ensure finished glasses meet quality standards Adjust and repair eyeglasses and frames Learn about current optical products, styles, lens technology, and trends Assist doctors with post-exam patient care as a cross-trained Check-Out Coordinator Help patients understand their insurance benefits and collect payment for services Maintain accurate patient information and assist with insurance benefit processing Provide friendly, attentive service and help answer patient questions Work closely with doctors and other team members to create a smooth, positive patient experience
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
High school diploma or equivalent A friendly, outgoing personality and genuine enjoyment of working with people Interest in optics, eyewear, healthcare, and helping patients Strong communication and relationship-building skills Detail-oriented, organized, and dependable Willingness to learn new skills, products, technology, and processes Professional, upbeat, positive, and punctual Optical experience, ABO certification, or previous experience working with eyewear is a plus, but not required Take the next step!
