Our office emphasizes excellent customer service using the highest quality frames and lenses. We need a dedicated optician who values quality and wants to grow with the practice. A strong awareness of current fashion trends is necessary. This position is public-facing and a positive, energetic personality is key. Essential Functions Assists patients with frame and lens selections, coating options, repairs and adjustments Educates patients on lens and frame options in relation to lifestyle needs, trains patients on care of eyewear Provides vision benefits counseling and collects payments Assists with frame board management Day of services into inventory, helps choose frame lines Orders glasses and files insurances Tracks incoming orders and dispensing Helps establishes value packages and special offerings Develops vendor relationships and cooperative marketing and charitable efforts Organizes trunk shows Tracks key statistics: total eyewear sales, multiple pairs, dispensing ratios Maintains the appearance of the dispensary, responsible for dispensing equipment and supply levels, organizes product literature Must feel comfortable selling high-end eyewear Performance Factors Attendance and dependability: The employee can be depended on to report to work at the scheduled time and is seldom absent from work. Qualifications Minimum of one year of experience as a dispensing optician; possessing a firm grasp on current fashion trends, and having a good balance of assertive sales techniques with the ability to teach patients the value of the lens options recommended by the doctor for their lifestyle Must have computer skills and the ability to learn EMR system Strong ability to multi-task with high degree of accuracy, attention to detail a must Excellent customer service Strong analytical and problem solving skills Superior verbal and written skills Strong interpersonal skills essential
